WORKBOOKS - Writing in workbook pages, as opposed to typing on a computer, can help kids to focus and to learn. Writing by hand fires up specific areas of a child's brain, improving a child's ability to not only remember what he or she learns but to think of new ideas. When kids complete the workbook, fill out the Congrats! certificate to reward a job well done. Hang it on the wall or fridge to display their achievement with pride.
RESULTS - Our learning materials have helped educate three generations of kids, creating lifelong learners, and the legacy continues. Digital content, flash cards, workbooks, readers, toys, and games—all are crafted through a child's eyes while integrating parent and teacher standards.

School Zone Publishing - Nourishing Young Minds
OUR STORY Almost 40 years ago, long-time educators James Hoffman, Ed.D., and his wife Joan Hoffman, M.A., began a retail supply outlet for teachers, then soon identified a need for at-home learning materials to help parents support and supplement their children's classroom instruction. School Zone Publishing fast emerged as the market leader in workbooks and flashcards for preschoolers through sixth graders.
School Zone remains family-owned, focused on excellence, responsive to customers, alert to emerging technology, and committed to the community. We continually update our products with new features and content, reflective of changing standards, evolving teaching methods, and overall best practices. As just one example, we update our workbook curriculum on an as-needed basis to address changing standards such as those presented by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and Common Core.

"I received a book that has a different cover. I have no idea if they are the same inside. Lots of dot to dot and mazes. Starts off super easy and gradually becomes more challenging."

- The activities in here are
1. Mazes - drawing lines from one end to the other
2. Connect the dots - starts with 1-5 then 1-10 then 1-20 then 1-25 then 1-30...etc
3. Look and Find - not gonna lie, the objects are kind of hard to find. My 3 year old couldn't find some of the items and so my husband and I both spent a couple minutes helping her find them.
I was thinking there would be pages to trace letters, or numbers, or shapes, or even activities for color identification and cutting/pasting but there isn't.
After a while of connecting the dots and doing the mazes, my daughter was over it. We got about a quarter of the way through the book and she has showed absolutely no interest in it since. - The workbook brings just what it says it brings. This includes mazes (which help with strengthening hand eye coordination to begin or reinforce writing), hidden pictures (where you search for the objects they say to search for), connect the dots from 1-25 (Practice counting and sequencing, what number goes after 2...etc) and connect the dots from A-Z (Practice the abcs and also do sequencing, what letter comes after C...etc). These are perfect and age appropriate activities for 3-5 year olds.
If you are looking for more advanced workbook pages for your child try the kindergarten or 1st grade workbook books from this same company.
I'd also advise that you read the cover so you can know what the workbook pages are about to better determine which workbook would be better for your child. - This is a good workbook for my 3 year old. Perfect for her to practice holding a crayon, pencil and pen. She is a bit young at 3.5 but I wish I would have started her even earlier. It says ages 3-5 year olds, but I think it might be too easy, if you have a smart kid. Mainly the pages are filled with maps, connect the dots, and visual searches. It would have been great for there to be more writing numbers and letters... more reading. What a great way to spend our time a few times per week. These books aren’t super well organized, and jump around a little, we jump around too, and are to working on it cover to cover, but rather by flipping to pages that interest us on that day. Child focused learning. Will definitely buy this for friends and families with kids in this age group!
- It’s true what the other parents are saying about how it’s just full of mazes and connect the dots so kids can lose interest over it or the book just doesn’t provide the needed education. I bought a lot of these types of workbooks ranging from pre K to 1st. I wasn’t expecting this book to be just mazes and connect the dots BUT my daughter did enjoy one of their other workbooks that has to do with tracing. That other workbook had some mazes so I think my daughter will look forward to this workbook as well. Im thinking of having her work out of this Big Preschool workbook to give her a “break†when she works on the other ones.
- Great value and my three year old loves them (we also have the alphabet book and the big preschool book), she asks for them almost every evening. I think a bit younger than 4 would be fine to start them on this book. These really help us as parents to know what we should even guide them in between now and kindergarten.
- I received a book that has a different cover. I have no idea if they are the same inside. Lots of dot to dot and mazes. Starts off super easy and gradually becomes more challenging.
- Book is meant for 3 to 4yr olds. my 5 yr old kids find them very easy but they love to do them when they are tired from doing other activities. Finding items from the pictures are more challenging from the other ones.
- Adequate for my 2.5 yr old to learn and solidify a few skills like mazes, hidden pictures and connect the dots. Very colorful and engaging
